Forest Park in July

Jamie, Carol, the puppies and I headed out to Forest Park to do a little trail hiking today.  After spending a few days at the lake in the rain, I thought we needed to get out and enjoy some sunshine.  That we did!

 

I like to just hike the trails.  Jamie likes to read maps.  He apparently feels better knowing where we're going and not having to worry about me getting us lost.

 

  I'm fine with trail markers.

 I think the girls are too.

Such a beautiful day that we decided to plan a little road trip before Carol goes home on Sunday.  Be back soon.

Hailee & Zahra

After returning from the lake, we brought Hailee home.  Little did she know that her mom had a little surprised planned for her.  When Hailee came in to the house, she wanted to know there were streamers everywhere.  Lori told her that we were just having some cake and a little surprise.

So Hailee stood by the table and smiled for pictures, thanking her mom for yet another cake for her birthday.

 Finally Lori told her to turn around. 

 Hailee has been asking for a puppy for a long time now.  Lori found this beautiful great dane and named her Zahra.

 

I think they will be perfect friends.

 

 

 And then we enjoyed some cake.  What's a party, even if it's the third one, without cake?
