Pilot Butte, Bend, OR

Someone at the ranch told us to drive up Pilot Butte while we were visiting Bend on Thursday. They said the view, overlooking Bend, shouldn't be missed.

What they forgot to tell us is that the road up to the top closes in the Winter. The only way up is by pathways.

We weren't really dressed for hiking, so we hoped the paths were paved and cleared.

That wasn't the situation though...

But the views were beautiful.

Whenever you go anywhere with Jamie, you have to be prepared to wait for him to talk to someone on his phone.

There was only a small area that he didn't get cell service.

Jamie constantly reminded me to walk slowly. "Baby steps" he said.

And I made it safely to the bottom!
