Visiting with Kylah & Kallie

We headed to Sherwood last Tuesday to go to Kylah's first softball game. Unfortunately, the other team cancelled due to illness. We decided to visit for a while and play outside instead.

You can't really see any of them, but I love this picture.

Burgerville

We were at Burgerville last Monday for a Relay For Life FUNdraiser for my team.

While there, I found this tshirt.

Why, yes I am.

We raised over $400 for out team and hope to do the fundraiser again soon. How can you go wrong - raising money at Burgerville while enjoying a fresh, local strawberry shake and a seasoned turkey burger...okay!

Makena's Letty's Bag

As soon as Makena saw my Letty's Bag, she wanted one of her own.

She originally picked out some Winnie the Pooh fabric, which would have been really cute but was too light of a color. Then she found bright, fun fabric.

Kathy called on the way home from Garibaldi to let me know that Makena's bag was done. She couldn't wait to see it and fill it up.

It's now her backpack for school (binder fits perfect) as well as her purse. She can fit all of her goodies in there!

If you missed my Letty's Bag, you can see it here.

Thanks again Kathy!

A day on the beach with Makena & Moxie

Before heading home on Sunday, Makena and I took Moxie back down to the beach. It was still nice out, just a bit windy.

Makena and Moxie ran to the water.

I made this
Makena found a stick for Moxie
Then she built a sand castle.
Moxie wanted to help.
I went in search of drift wood and found this wonderful face. Makena says it's creepy.

On the way back, I played around a bit again with my wide lens.

I love getting to spend Mother's Day with my mom, Gram and Makena. I have no idea how I didn't get a single picture of any of us together all weekend. I guess I was just enjoying my time with them...

Back in Momma's yard

You can always find something whimsical or blooming in my mom's yard.

Last year on Mother's Day, I took these pictures around my mom's yard. Here are a few that I took this year...

Mother's Day Weekend

I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! Makena and I headed to Garibaldi on Friday to spend the weekend with my mom and Gram. What a gorgeous weekend it turned out to be.

My mom and I spent a few hours shopping on Saturday. We hit all of our favorite antique shops, and both found some new treasures.

Makena and Rudy took the dogs to the beach while Mom & I shopped. Makena took around 400 pictures (that's my girl!) and will hopefully edit and share some of those soon.

That night, Rudy took us all out for Chinese. It's Makena's favorite.

Then Makena and I drove around Garibaldi for a while so that I could take a few pictures too.

She thought the path was "dangerous"
We made it!
(That's Garibaldi in the background.)
Makena found a crab...that didn't move.
Makena peeked through as I was taking the shot.
throwing rocks
See the pipes sticking out of the rock forms in the photo below?

Makena says "Can I go climb on that?"

"Umm...no." I say

"Why not?"

"Because you might impale yourself on those big, rusty pipes."

"Seriously?"

"Totally."

She didn't climb on them.

Happy Birthday to Me!

We had a great time last night going out for my birthday, my sister's birthday and Dylona's birthday! I must be older, because I was "feeling it" this morning.

That could have been too much alcohol tho...

But I had fun.

And as soon as I find my camera, I'll remember how much fun I had! : )

Yes, we are still here...

I haven't posted for a while (thanks for missing me Kathy) so I wanted to let you all know that we are alive and well.

We started having some computer issues a while back. Then, last Thursday, everything came to a crash. Literally.

We have since had to erase and reinstall my laptop, Makena's laptop and my desktop computer. You'd think I'd be happy about not having to "work", but I also couldn't do anything else.

Blog.

Read blogs.

Upload pictures.

Nothing...

Luckily, we had everything backed up and nothing was really lost. It's just the process of having to find the files and bring them back to my computer, update my preferences and remember all of my passwords.

I was, of course, most worried about my pictures. The computer guy couldn't believe how many pictures I had on my computers, or how I could take that many. Little does he know.

Anywho, I will soon be posting again on a regular basis and update you on our last couple of weeks.

With pictures!
