A weekend in Seattle
We spent last weekend in Seattle, WA. We had a appointment with our accountant on Friday, and we going to a football game on Sunday, so we decided to make a weekend of it.
Someone (Jamie) waited until the last minute (2 hrs before we left) to book a hotel room. We did have a nice room at the Sheraton Hotel downtown, but we were stuck with two double beds. A little moving around and all was well.
We went up to the 35th floor to see what the pool and gym were like. We decided not to stay very long at either place. I mean, look at all these rules?!?
Then we decided to go for a walk and find some place to eat.
We got up early on Saturday morning, and I was ready to shop. I hadn't been down to Pioneer Square in Seattle and wanted to see what it was all about. Unfortunately, we were there before most of the shops or restaurants opened. So we walked around for a bit.
We found a beautiful, little park dedicated to the USPS.
And a great building with vines growing all over it.
And then we found a little place open for breakfast before we hit the antique shops.
Which were spread over a distance of about 1.5 miles. So...more walking...
We did find one antique shop that had hundreds of different vendors inside of it. But my only finds for the day were a book and two bottle openers.
I was a little disappointed, so we caught a bus and headed to Pike's Market.
Which was extremely crowded on this rainy Saturday afternoon. But, Pike's Market always makes me feel better.
But not as much as going to lunch at The Pike Pub & Brewery for their sandwiches and beer.
Thanks again for spending the day walking the streets of Seattle and antique shopping with me Jamie!

Sun breaks
What does one who lives in the PNW do when the sun comes out during our rainy season? (And yes, that is October - May.) We get outside...quickly.
It was nice the other day, so I mowed, cleaned up the garden and put away my outside planters. Then I grabbed my camera before cleaning out the bird baths.
